Internal Locus of Control

Occupying a position that is sensitive to people management is quite a craft that requires skill.  Human diversity as interesting as it is comes with monumental paradoxes that boggle the mind. In the cause of my work experience and dealing with people of different caliber, I have articulated a strategy that tends to work quite well for me. Developing an internal locus of control helps me manage and
deal with people regardless of their background, level of understanding and how their experiences have shaped them. That locus of control serves as an internal mechanism that organizes my thought process as well as balances the way and manner I respond to people without getting overwhelmed and exhausted in the process. In addition, I believe that issues around people management should be handled from a value-based position in a way that reflects the organisation's persona. The value of respect for people is a strong foundation which makes you look beyond the maladaptive behaviour that is exhibited and focus on the internal value which defines originality. That frame of mind helps you to treat people with some level of dignity and respect. These work-place complexities cannot be taken away given how divergent we are as humans, but can be managed and optimized when you develop an internal locus of control that supports your passion.
