Forward Thinking-Adaptive Leadership
In the cause of my interaction with business strategists and business leaders of different caliber, we share our thoughts around the challenges of businesses and corporate organisations in the 21st century. The rationale is to provide sustainable solution to businesses as the model for success in these "interesting times" have become more uncertain than ever. Organizations are driven by the sense of urgency to remain relevant as competition intensifies and as globalization becomes the "New God". The workforce itself is in constant search on how to become more valuable, and leaders from all perspectives are on the search of how to unify, engage and ultimately influence a team of intelligent, skilled and self-aware team. Forward thinking is however an ideal pattern of thinking that will guarantee business sustainability. The ability to look ahead and see ahead is a demonstration of the mind that thinks in progressive terms.
Beyond the conventional sleep and wake-up cycle of business, leaders should anticipate futuristic challenges and proactively bridge existing gaps. The complexity of the world increases and the quest for an "Ideal" form of leadership is on the increase. Although leadership itself is not a one-size-fit-all and different leadership styles, strategies and models thrive given different circumstances. Our age of rapid change and moral questioning calls for Adaptive Leadership through case-in-point. It suggests the use of ones' immediate situation and experience as a basis for learning in the midst of practice. Therefore, the individual is actively involved in the process, taking cognizance of areas that require improvement and closing the gap.
