Self-Imposed Pressure
It is quite easy to relate with pressure driven by external factors; some of them come from family responsibilities, work related issues, health factors etc. Given the dynamic nature of life, most of the time, we are not in control of the factors that stimulate these pressures, therefore, regardless of the degree to which these pressures come, or the manner they present themselves, we find ways to deal with them as much as our capacity permits. However, we are faced with a different kind of pressure.
This kind is traceable to our inability to control the excesses stimulated by our human insatiability. Most often than not, we tend to mount pressure on ourselves because we have allowed societal trends to set the standard upon which our lives are governed. When the voice of contentment is faint, we become pressured to live a certain kind of life that is counter productive to our current reality. Thus, in the quest to chase and meet standards, we pressurize ourselves into becoming who we are not. We stand the chance of imposing pressure on ourselves when we allow social trend to become the yard stick for measuring our progress and purposefulness. The world we live in today is bombarded with hypes from the pillars of influence, especially the media, arts and entertainment. As entertaining as it is, you should be able to draw the line between the social media reality and your current reality so that you don't impose unnecessary pressure on yourself. Leave within your reality and be the best of you.
