Realizing your worthy ideal

Success has been defined countless times by different proponents, schools of thoughts and thinkers. However, I resonate more with Earl Nightingale's line of thought concerning the subject. He believes that "success" is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal. A few pointers in this definition stand out apparently. The progressive nature of success communicates that it is
procedural in nature. Therefore one is successful when there is consistency in the actions that will lead to the realization of a worthy ideal, dream, vision, purpose, goal, etc. In other words, there are certain characteristics and traits that guarantee the kind of results we seek, but it appears that some people have up-hill expectations for their lives, they have a worthy ideal they want to achieve, but they play around down-hill habits which undermines the goal. These down-hill habits short-circuit the process and will eventually pose as an impediment on their path. In the race to becoming successful, our expectations should match certain habits in order to create optimum value. Therefore, through a personal assessment of yourself based on your expectations and habits, you will expose your character and attitude towards realizing your worthy ideal.
